Cross Country Mudbath!

Thornley was the muddy venue for this weekend’s NEHL fixture. Wellies came highly recommended as the juniors preceded the ladies to ensure maximum mud was waiting for the final men’s race. Ashleigh Bennett clocked the fastest time for the ladies, 34:20, although Rachel Ball, running cross-country for the first time in a while, was the first Strollette home in 36:17. Michelle O’Neill and Jo Anderson were the remaining two counters with only 6 seconds between them. Well done girls!

Jamie Collin led the men him in 47:11, closely followed by Ken Maynard in 47:38. Our other four counters were Gavin Sword (who had to pull out of the last Thornley run due to injury), Chris Dwyer, Adnan Khan and Paul Dunlop. Chris Dwyer clocked 8 minutes slower than the last visit here which should give some idea of just how tough it was to wade through the course. Well done to each and every Stroller who turned out.

Jazz Hands!
