Winter Handicap
Provisional results for the Feb running of the Winter Handicap are now available and will be uploaded to the website, apologies for it taking so long. If there are any major errors or omissions then can you let me know ASAP so that I can get the revised details out for next week. The last and final running will be next Wednesday (14 Mar), first runners off at 7:30pm. I’ll upload the full list of handicaps early next week.
Lets Move Campaign
University of Sunderland’s Gym – City Space on Chester Road have asked if the Strollers can help them out in winning the Let’s Move for a Better World Challenge which starts on the 12th March. It’s a TechnoGym global initiative to fight against obesity and get people moving. They are competing against other clubs in the region to beat their total moves score over the course of the 3 week challenge. If they reach over 1 million moves which they managed last year, they can win gym kit for a local charity. I’ve secured 10 slots on each Thursday during the challenge (exact time to be confirmed), first 10 people to get in touch with me will secure their place (and a free t-shirt).
Subscriptions
All subscriptions should be paid to Gary Hargrave by absolutely no later than 31 March, pay either by cash or cheque on a Wednesday or online to the Club Account (09-01-29 – 05585618). If you pay online please send an email to Treasurer@SunderlandStrollers.co.uk advising Gary that you’ve paid so that he can match up the account credits. Members who have not renewed their subscriptions by 31 March will be removed from membership of the Facebook group. If you joined after 1 Oct 2017 then there is no requirement to renew, your next subs will not be due until January 2019. If you’re not sure when you joined contact Gary to find out.
Stroller of the Month
Our February Stroller of the Month is Brian Johnston. Brian has been a stalwart of the pack leaders with D Pack benefiting from his dedication and commitment during a shortage of leaders. Brian is also an enthusiastic member of the Strollers who lead the sessions for the Beginners on a Tuesday night. Don’t forget to let me know who you think should be Stroller of the Month for March.
Alnwick XC
The XC at Alnwick has been rearranged for 17 March, please let Michael Dixon (men) or Sue Tate (women) know if you can run. If you previously booked a place on the bus and don’t need it anymore then let Terry know.
