East Durham Trust 5K

EAST DURHAM TRUST 5K – 17 FEB 2019

On a sunny but very blustery Sunday morning 119 runners gathered for the inaugural East Durham Trust 5K run from Noses Point. The race was set up at the request of the East Durham Trust who have been encouraging many in the local area to pursue a more active lifestyle. Many have successfully completed the Couch to 5K programme, this was to be their baptism into competition.

The field was led home by ex-Sunderland Stroller, now Sunderland Harrier, Steve Rankin in 17:07. He was followed home by Wallsend Harrier Andy Graham and Houghton Harrier Tom Whelan. First lady across the line was Leanne Robertson from Blackhill Bounders closely followed by Elvet Strider Laura Jennings and Run Peterlee’s Lisa Robinson. Age category winners were as follows:

MV40 – Neil Procter – Sunderland Strollers

MV50 – Darren Fletcher

MV60 – Gary Hutchinson – Unattached

MV70 – Lee Puchala – Unattached

FV40 – Kelly Stubbs – Peterlee Ladies

FV50 – Deborah Houghton – Peterlee Ladies

FV60 – Shelia Hudson – Sunderland Strollers

Well done to all who took part, we hope that you all enjoyed it, the full results are here while a selection of photographs are here.
