Come on in you you legends!

The UTLD was another magnificent Stroller event. Wasdale was the perfect venue for Strollerfest and was, as always, one of the Lakeland high lights for many. Well done to all of the CP crew, led by Lee, (who went on to run the 50) who put in a long shift to ensure the runners were well looked after.

The kudos this year go to all who ran – but we surely need a special mention for Auld Ken. He ran a canny race, pacing himself and making sure he kept fed and watered so that he could romp home first AND break Stu’s Stroller record. Well done Ken, total respect for a jolly good run, you were awesome! Next 100 Stroller was HH, complete with wounded head – don’t worry, he assures us it missed his brain by 5’9” – then Dan, with beautiful trench foot and a most entertaining style of walking. Lou brought it home next, our first and only lady after Jill took rather poorly at Buttermere (and it takes a lot to knock her for six). Gutsy and brilliant performance Louise, your feet were as gorgeous as Dan’s! We had our fair share of DNFs but in a race such as this, they were in very good company.

The 50 runners were also super amazing, though many will try to tell you they ‘only’ did the 50! Well done to you all too – lots qualified for next year’s 100, how many will be daft enough to do it? Ash was 12th lady and Luke came very close to taking John Cook’s record.

So take a bow each and everyone. You are amazing.
