Druridge Bay XC

Druridge Bay is the second fixture in the 2018-19 Harrier League season.
Senior and vet women run at approximately 12.50pm, running two laps and a total distance of approximately 4 miles.
Senior and vet men run at approximately 1.50pm, running three laps and a total distance of approximately 6 miles.
The club pays for your entry for the season, but if you ask to run and don’t take part in one of the fixtures, we ask that you kindly repay the £3 registration fee. Exceptions will be made where injury or other circumstances prevent a runner taking part, at the discretion of the club committee.

The club are funding free bus travel to each XC fixture this season. To book a place please contact Terry Topping. You’ll be asked to pay for the bus in advance to secure your place, but you’ll receive the money back on the day when you get on the bus.
Runners usually meet back at Ashbrooke for a drink and the club also provide some hot post-race food.
10 championship bonus points are available for each cross country you run, up to a maximum of 40 per season. Only the six Harrier League races per season, plus the North Eastern XC championship fixture are eligible.
If you haven’t run before, you’ll need a Strollers vest and a pair of XC spikes. Some of the earlier season fixtures can be dry and trail shoes may be suitable. When you receive your XC number, you keep the same one for the whole season. If you lose it, you can pay for a new one at a cost of £5.
Everyone can help! No matter what pace you are, taking part in cross country helps your club, so please get involved if you can. It’s also great training and will make you a stronger runner.
