Mudfest – proper XC!

Last Saturday welcomed the first NEHL event of 2018. Hosted, once more, by the Wearside Athletic Network, Herrington Park provided the perfect course and conditions for cross country. Strollers came up trumps as they, along with others from the network, set up, marshalled and cleared up. Not only that, we had a good turn out from runners too.

Ladies’ counters were Wendy Chapman, Ashleigh Bennett, Hasina Khanom and Michelle O’Neill. The boys were led home by Bill Bowman with Danny Dixon making his Stroller debut and coming second Stroller – excellent – then Ed Sweeney, Paul Dunlop, Chris Dwyer and Ritchie Gerry.

The Old Monk’s Race was on Sunday and a number of Strollers headed to Hart Village for this established, well organised and scenic run. We came home eith a selection of prizes, all from our ‘more mature’ runners. Lyne was Fv60 winner and Derek and Dawn also picked up age category prizes in the V65 and FV55. Well done you guys!
