Another Clazey’s Doorstep Success!
On 2nd December, Clazey’s Doorstep runs once again raised funds for local charities. This year, three charities each received a wonderful £1250 each.
At 8am, 11 hardy souls set off to run the marathon distance. Ably supported by our magnificent Sunday morning bikers, each runner completed the route with bespoke marshalling all the way round.
The half distance was next to leave, being waved off at 10am. Raymond and Kev lead the way on bikes with Andy sweeping and supporting at the back. Many participants were running this distance for the first time so very well done to them. Others used the comaraderie to support their Sunday long run while others used the support of marshals to see where they were pace wise. A special well done to Luke McCormack who ran a tremendous time after only three hours sleep – twins as opposed to partying so even more kudos!
Once again, there was a good turn out for the more recently introduced 10k. Including this shorter distance means an even wider range of runners can join in. Trevor showed the way on his bike with Jan chatting along at the rear to lend a helping hand.
Butties and cuppas were awaiting all runners, directed from the finish line by Ian, Ashleigh and Grace.
A massive thank you to all who ran, helping to raise this marvellous amount and also to all marshals, especially non-Strollers, without whom this event could not happen. A Goa curry was the perfect end for many!
