The Lakeland 100 is long distance race consisting of a 105 mile loop of the Lakeland fells, including over 6800m of ascent, to be completed in 40 hours. If that sounds a bit much to take in, there is always the option to do the “half”, a distance of 50 miles with almost 3000m of ascent to be completed within 24 hours. Get the full story on the Lakeland 100 site.
Sunderland Strollers have a long association with both events, both as competitors, and manning the 3rd checkpoint on the Lakeland 100 course at 20 miles, aka the “Strollers Disco”.
The next time the event will be held is the weekend of July 24th 2020, and in order for Strollers competitors to familiarise themselves with the course, we will be going on a number of reccies around the course. Any Stroller who is thinking about taking part in the future, or just fancies a day out to see what all the fuss is about, is also welcome.
