Sunny Strolling!

The sun shone on the Strollers as races from 5 miles to 50k were ran. On Saturday, Paul Riddell and Mel Davies trundled around a very warm Kielder, taking in 50k of this beautiful area – well done guys!

On Sunday, another championship race ensured a good turn out for a rather hot Hartlepool Marina 5 miler. Andrew Forbes was 1st Stroller in 29:13, closely followed by Chris Dwyer in a chip time of 29:22. Another great run by these two fast lads! However, it was our vets who picked up 8 medals; 3 gold, 2 silver and 3 bronze were collected as part of the Masters series. Well done to Lyne, Lesley, Gilbo, Mal, Peter, Mike, Dale and Bill.

We also had Strolletes on European duty as Michelle Houghton and Kate Halshaw ran the Paris Marathon. Both girls achieved a PB, no mean feat in the even hotter French sunshine! Good going girls!

Hardmoors had another run on Sunday and Sarah Riddell ran her first trail race, in a time nearly an hour faster than she’d have settled for, with Paul keeping her company on his tired Kielder legs. Lovely to see!

It’s good to see the huge range of challenges and achievements our members set themselves and even better to see the encouragement and support we all give. What a club!
