Entries are now open for the Pier to Pier 2016
The Pier to Pier Run will take place on the 22nd of May.
Online entry is now available via our site or the myrace website
Costs are £23 for unattached runners and £21 for UKA registered
A bus is available for only £2

hi i would like to do the pier to pier race for charity for the rvi childrens hosital as my son is getting treatment there im 43 and pretty fit i have not done much running how much training do i need to do and how far any tips would be great x

Apologies for the slow reply, you are more than welcome to run the Pier to Pier Race for charity. In terms of training, there is still plenty of time. I would suggest that you build up slowly and steadily as doing too much, too soon can often lead to injury. Try to build up to running 3 or 4 times a week with at least one of the runs building up to around 7 miles (the distance of the race). The cut-off for finishers is 2 hours which should be plenty of time for all competitors.
Hi iv selected the bus option so presume £24 includes that as I entered under affiliated entry.. Only thing to query is it says first come first served for the bus, but surely if you select the bus option your guaranteed a seat?

Yes, of course you are guaranteed a place; however, we only have a finite capacity and urge all runners to not leave it to the last minute to catch the bus.

Due to your number getting lost in the post you’ve been re-allocated to Race Number 1129. Since you also paid for a Bus Ticket the number will be at Roker (with a bus ticket attached) tomorrow morning. Please see the Bus Marshal who will be holding your race number.
