Welcome to the new way that the majority of news/information will be passed onto Club Members rather than a weekly email
In future a simple link to this page will be posted on Facebook and emailed out rather than the entire detail going out by email. It will mean that information is always available on the website and this should become your first point of reference for information about the Club and its activities.
Subs
Subs for 2018 are now due; the Committee have kept them at £25 for the 3rd successive year despite an increase of the English Athletics levy. You can pay by bank transfer (Sort Code 09-01-29 – Account Number 05585618); to help Gary please use your UK Athletics registration number as the payment reference. If you want to pay by cash or cheque then Gary (or one of his staff) will be available both before and after the Wednesday sessions. If you can’t make it to the Club then please pass it onto any member of the Committee who will pass it onto Gary. Don’t forget that anyone who joined the Club after 1 Oct 2017 does NOT need to pay again for 2018.
Hetton Relays
Andy Forbes is taking names for the Hetton Relays on Saturday 17 Feb; if you want to run then contact Andy using menscaptain@sunderlandstrollers.co.uk. First race is 12pm, this is always a great day out so even if you don’t fancy running come along and support.
Winter Handicap
Results are out for the Winter Handicap on 8 Jan, well done to the winners and fast runners. All the details are on the Winter Handicap page including revised handicap times for the next race on 14 Feb.
Track Sessions
Unfortunately the weather put paid to the A Pack venturing onto the track last night. All being well it will be the B Packs turn next week. People can either meet at the Club and run up or meet up there warmed up ready to start the session at 7:30pm. Ritchie Gerry has kindly agreed to be a non-running session leader and will also explain track etiquette and pacing guides. Club Coach Lee Corbett has added these notes to explain the rationale.
Beginners
The 2018 Beginners Group started this week with a record 127 attendees. These sessions cannot operate without a substantial band of volunteer Strollers. If you can help then please do so. Beginners meet at 6:30pm on Tuesdays.
